How We Do It

So, how does this all work, anyway?

First, you contact me to schedule your free consultation.  During the consultation, you’ll tell me about your struggles and goals.  Then, I’ll explain a bit about what I do and how I can help you, as well as answer any questions you may have.  If it sounds like we should be working together, we’ll talk about scheduling our first appointment.  

San Francisco Bay Area clients have the option of meeting in person.  All clients have the option of meeting by phone or Skype.

Our first session will be an hour long.  In this session, you’ll share your history with health and eating, and where you’re at today.  We’ll figure out your wellness goals.  Towards the end of the first session, we’ll come up with your first “homework” assignment.

Nobody told me there’d be homework!”

If you’re working with me, it’s because you want to change.  The best way to change is to continuously take manageable steps towards achieving your goals.  So, you’ll always have something to try out between our sessions.  Sometimes it’s fun, sometimes it’s challenging, but it’s always interesting, and you’ll be amazed what you learn about yourself!

Follow up sessions are usually 30 minutes long.  We begin with you talking about how your week and your homework went.  No judgment.  Whatever we notice about what happened is just useful information for moving forward in the future.  By the end of the session, you’ll have new goals for the upcoming week.

In between sessions you’re welcome to ask questions and get support by email.

Over time, you’ll notice yourself becoming more in touch with your inner wisdom.  You’ll be surprised to find yourself acting differently in familiar situations.  Setting goals and achieving them begins to feel fun and easy.  I know my work is done when you’re happy with your relationship with food, and you’ve become an expert at self-care.
