What is Intuitive Eating?

Intuitive Eating is:

  • tuning into your inner wisdom about what, when, and how to eat
  • trusting your body
  • freedom from diets
  • eating what you want instead of what you “should”
  • eating in a way that makes your body feel happier
  • being able to stop when you’re full
  • saying “no thank you” to food you don’t want
  • becoming your own nutritionist
  • being the expert on your own body
  • caring for yourself in the best possible way
  • the end of ineffective diets
  • trusting that you know what’s best for you
  • eating soup for breakfast because it sounds good
  • eating cookies just because you feel like it
  • a healthy relationship with food
  • an end to restricting and binging
  • respecting your body’s hunger and fullness signals
  • bringing order to disorder
  • a rebellion against the dieting norm
  • making emotional eating a choice
  • doing the best you can with what you have
  • freedom from food rules
  • eating in a way that is truly satisfying
  • doing your best to meet your body’s food needs
